| ASK ANDEE |
CounterPoint SQL
Dear Andee -
I manage a Bath and Beauty shop, and our customers will come in looking for a product they bought "last time", but not remember the exact product. We are tracking customers in CounterPoint, but I don't know the quickest way for my clerks to see what the customer purchased the last time they shopped with us. Can you help?
Signed,
Forgetful
Dear Forget -
I believe the quickest way to find what the customer purchased recently is to enter the customer at point of sale, press the Customer Zoom, and then click the Recent Sales button. There's also a View Ticket History button in the Zoom if you need more information.
Signed,
Andee

CounterPoint SQL
Dear Andee -
We've been running CounterPoint and Radiant Touchscreen terminals in our Swimming Pool Supply store for many years. We have a number of sales that combine selling items the customer will take with them, and orders for items that we will deliver. We love that CounterPoint lets us handle this with just one document, but the issue is that it's hard to tell which lines are sales and which are ordered. I know the screen shows a green indicator for the sales and a blue one for the orders, but its hard to tell them apart. Is there any other way to show which lines are sales and which are orders?

Color Blind
Dear Color -
Yes! You can use the Column Designer feature in Touchscreen Ticket Entry. Click the small box to the left of the Item # column heading and that will launch Column Designer. Once in Column Designer, look at the fields on the left side under Hidden Columns and find the one called Line Type. Click the Add button to add Line Type to the right side under Visible Columns. You can use the Move Up button on the bottom right to place that field where you want it. Once you have it set hit "OK" and you will immediately see that column, and if you are in Sales Mode, it will show "Sale". If you turn on Orders, that line will show "Order". Be sure to save the setting by right-clicking in the column area and choosing to Save As.
Signed,
Andee

CounterPoint V7
Dear Andee -
I own a woman's clothing store, and we use CounterPoint V7. We're trying to tighten our controls, and do the best we can to avoid fraud. Currently, when we process a return, we have found that CounterPoint is prompting us to refund the amount that the item is selling for the day of the return. We want to be sure we are refunding the amount of money the customer paid, but it's really time consuming to look it up in history. Is there anything you can think of that might assist us?
Signed,
We put the Fun in Refund
Dear Fun -
In Version 7.5.9 we added a feature called Validated Returns. In regular ticket entry, if you press Alt-R at the customer number field at the start of a ticket, we ask you for a ticket number. You can also look-up the ticket in history by customer or purchase order number. Once you've found the right ticket to return, you select it and are prompted to View or Return. If you choose Return, we return the line items on the ticket from history at the price the customer paid. You can remove some of the line items if they're not being returned, and then total the ticket to do the refund.
Signed,
Andee
